The five drawings in this series associated with The Sindhu Project: Enigma of Roots, consist of six intricately-painted found atlas pages that I have altered by collaging, image-transferring and painting the surface. Each drawing translates the floorplan of a site I visited in Taxila in 2019. These paintings are informed by my background in traditional miniature painting in combination with contemporary art-making methods that allow my past and present to be in conversation with each other.
